Our most recent polished concrete floor is a polished concrete garage floor from Overland Park Kansas. Viewing the final results, our customer slowly and cautiously placed his hand on the newly polished concrete garage floor to see if it was wet.

We had a good laugh about that and so did he.

This wasn’t a bad concrete job to begin with, but like most concrete companies who want their work to look “glossy”, they tried to put a concrete sealer on top of their newly poured concrete slab. Little do they realize that putting a concrete sealer on top of freshly poured concrete can actually hurt the curing process.

Any polished concrete garage floor starts with grinding the concrete floor. This means grinding off the concrete sealer the concrete company sealed the slab with.

You may be able to tell from the dark blotches in the pictures below, but the first 4 have the concrete sealer on it. The final polished concrete garage floor was stained black.
