Our most recent polished concrete floors project comes from a U-Haul warehouse in Fort Smith, AR. It’s a 20,000 square foot facility that used to be the site of an old bowling alley. I’ve actually bowled there a couple of times when I was a child.

The polished concrete floors at the U-Haul warehouse turned out much better than anyone expected. In fact, there was talk about completely covering the floor at one point, but we knew we cold produce beautifully polished concrete floors.

Anything that could be wrong with this floor IS wrong with this floor. Most polished concrete companies would probably walk away from a job like this, but Glossy Floors was up to the challenge.

As you can see from the pictures we’ve added below, there were massive amounts of aggregate showing in the existing concrete floor. There are also several spots (Marked with orange spray paint) where there is rebar and other metal objects sticking up out of the concrete. In other places, there are footprints in the concrete, left from the original concrete finishers in the early 1970’s.

We are extremely proud of the polished concrete floors in this warehouse because it’s a completely different floor than what we started with. The floor was written off as the worst concrete floor they had ever seen in a warehouse. While it was pretty bad, we start our polished concrete floors with the belief that any and all concrete can be polished. There’s always a way.
