One of our latest Stained Polished concrete showroom floors is from BMC Mattress Company in Kansas City. From the very beginning, we knew this was going to be a special floor. The company wanted a design on the floor and that’s about all we knew for sure.
Once we removed the carpet and tile, we polished the concrete to a beautiful 1500 grit.
As with any polished concrete showroom floor, we take great pride in what we do. This particular polished concrete showroom floor was going to be something different though, and the further along we went, the more excited we became.
The company hired an interior designer who was coming up with a design we could put on the Polished Concrete Showroom floor.
Once we got the plans for the floor design, it was clear this was going to be one of our favorite floors. We’ve done lots of designs on floors, but nothing quite so large. They wanted us to put 4×6′ diamonds on the floor with a 6′ border. Once the math worked out the way it was supposed to (Square, diamond size, etc.), we went to work laying out the design. Once the design was laid out in chalk, we had to carefully saw cut each line with precision.
After the saw cuts were completed and the floor cleaned, we started masking off every other diamond to create a checkered diamond pattern. From there, we stained the concrete a beautiful Patriot Blue. This was one Polished Concrete Showroom floor we wouldn’t soon forget, and they were having us go straight to Chicago as soon as we pulled out.
As you can tell from the pictures below, everything worked out quite nicely for this designer polished concrete showroom floor. As we were finishing the floor, the company was already scheduling us to do their next floor in Chicago. That’s how much they liked the design.
